Members of the society recently met to elect a new slate of officers for 2012-2014 and catch up on business.

William Allerton, III is the new Governor with Michael Schenk as the Secretary-Registrar.

In honor of George Washington s birthday the Louisiana Society had a wreath laying ceremony at his statue which is located in New Orleans.

On the Fourth of July our Society joined other patriotic groups for a Barbecue held on the grounds of the Destrehan Plantation.

This past September Governor Ed Warren presented the Outstanding Louisiana National Guard Unit Award to General Bennett Landreneau and his taff to show appreciation for tehir services in Iraq.

In November several associates joined with the members of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims for lunch held at the Southern Yacht Club.

This year the Louisiana Society presented “The Outstanding National Guard Unit Award” to the 769nth ENG Battalion of the Louisiana National Guard to Major General Bennett C. Landreneau, Adjutant General, Louisiana National Guard. This unit was activated and went to Iraq.

A business meeting was held at Louisiana Governor Warren's home.
