Nevada
Society of the Order of Founders and Patriots of America
Fall Bulletin 2006
Our annual meeting for 2007 was jointly
held with the NV-SAR in conjunction with
the NV-DAR state conference in Carson
City. We plan our meetings to coincide with
other societies and the DAR because of our
interest to maintain a good relationship and
provide support toward our common goals.
During 2007, we continued our support
for ROTC programs in Nevada and Idaho.
Cadets and Midshipman are selected by the
unit commander.
For the 14th time, we presented the Order’s
award to the Outstanding R.O.T.C Cadet
at the University of Nevada-Reno. This
year the presentation was to Cadet Kerry
Mian by our Governor Brian I Worcester.
At the will of the Adjutant General, Nevada
National Guard, the award to the
Outstanding National Guard Unit is made
only at irregular times.
For the first time in eight years, the
University of Nevada-Las Vegas did not
nominate a cadet for the ROTC award.
For the 5th time, two awards were
presented at the University of Idaho-
Moscow. This year’s recipients were
Midshipman Amy Link and Cadet James
Miller. Additionally, we make an annual
gift to the Reno Family History Center, to
make research material available to every
visitor. Each book purchase is identified as
a gift from NV-OFPA.
