Spring Bulletin 2008
Fall Luncheon Begins the Program Year Our October 2, 2007 Luncheon was
attended by forty members and friends of
our patriotic organizations. After a
traditional New England meal of clam
chowder and scrod, we heard from our
distinguished speaker, Joshua Basseches,
Chief Operating Officer of the Peabody
Essex Museum. Josh provided an
informative talk recounting the history of
the museum through its precursor
institutions and describing the recent
additions and renovations that have made it
one of the leading museums in the United
States. In appreciation, Governor Donald
Thatcher presented him with a copy of the
recently published book, “The War.” It
accompanies the television program that
had been captivating many of us.
