the Order of Founders and Patriots of America
Spring Bulletin 2008
On November 3, 2007, the Georgia Society
held its annual meeting at the Colonnade
Restaurant in Atlanta. As the members
meet so seldom, each was asked to
introduce himself and his guest. Deputy
Governor James Westlake offered the
Invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance
to the flag of the United States of America
was recited. The following slate of officers
were elected: Charles Hampton, Governor;
James Westlake, Deputy Governor; Todd
Frary, Secretary; Harold Ford, Treasurer;
Geoffrey Oosterhoudt, Registrar.

Charles Hampton. Both attended the battlefield
dedication ceremony in Savannah, GA.

Ruth Reddick, past State President of the
Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims and
well known historian, spoke on Andrew
Jackson, giving the listeners a new
perspective on the life of one of the
movers and shakers in American history
and a former President of the United States.
Other activities by the society included
three dedication ceremonies by Governor
Hampton who laid wreaths on June 2, 2007
at the grave of Richard Wood Pendergast in
Winder, Georgia and on October 9, 2007 at
Battlfield Memorial Park and General
Casimir Pulaski’s Monument, both
in Savannah.
Governor Hampton also participated in
the Massing of the Flags at Annapolis,
Maryland on November 11, 2007.
