Fall 2012 Bulletin
The Colorado Society held its Winter Court on Saturday, February 4th at the Oxford Hotel in Denver. The court was att ended by fi ve Associates and one prospecti ve Associate. A draft set of inaugural Bylaws were discussed and adopted and new offi cers elected, including: Governor COL Robert J. Walcott , Secretary Dr. Matt hew S. Bowdish and Treasurer/Registrar Dr. David H. Coward. Presentati on of Diplomas was made to Associates David Coward and Michael B. Orist. On June 9th the Society held its Spring Court and luncheon in Castle Rock, Colorado, and were enriched by our fi rst guest speaker, Ms. Diane Barbour, who spoke about her research on Early Migrati on Trails in Colonial America.
Additi onally the Colorado Society has funded a three year endowment of the Outstanding Cadet in Systems Engineering Management
Award to a graduati ng cadet at the U.S. Air Force Academy, reserving that award for permanent funding by the Order. This spring
the Society raised more than $4,500 of additional funds towards the $9,000 balance required for a permanent endowment. Finally,
as a culminati on of our efforts, on May 21, 2012 Dr. David Coward, representing the Colorado Society and the Order, presented the
first of these awards to graduating Cadet John M. Lydiard, IV, at the 2012 Air Force Academy Awards Ceremony.
