Fall Bulletin 2005

The Georgia Society held its annual meeting in Atlanta. Outgoing president Todd Frary, installed the
2005-2006 officers. Charles Hampton was elected Governor and will be the third Governor for the Georgia Society.
The other elected officers are: James R. Westlake, Lt. Governor; Todd B. Frary, Secretary; William F.
Chastain, Treasurer; Ernest E. Blevins, Registrar, Governor Hampton is looking forward to a good two years
and is already planning new and innovative events for the upcoming year.
The Georgia Society was pleased to present a new Georgia State Flag in time for the 108th General Court
in Sarasota, Florida.
Governor Hampton cordially invites all fellow Associates to join theGeorgia Society
in Savannah for the 110th General Court May 18th-21st, 2006.

The Georgia Society held its Annual Meeting this past June 19, 2004 at Le Petite Auberge in the Toco
Hills District of Atlanta. Also in attendance were officers of the Georgia Society of the Daughters
of Founders and Patriots, prospective Associates and other attendees.
Lt. Governor Charles Hampton proudly presented the
Hinkley Cup to the gathered attendees. The Hinckley Cup was presented to the Georgia Society for
the highest increase in membership at the 108th General Court at Sarasota thispast May. This win marks the return of
the Hinckley Cup to Georgia following back to back wins of 1990 and 1991. Lt. Governor Hampton also
brought everyone up to date on the election of General Officers including his election as Deputy Genealogist
General and Governor Todd Frary’s election as Treasurer General.
A motion was raised and approved that would have the
Georgia Society cover the $25.00 pledge for each Associate that had not yet contributed towards the
storage of the Order’s records. A motion was made and approved to extend an invitation to our new Governor General,
Robert Vivian, to attend our next annual meeting. The topic of the Georgia Society hosting a future General
Court was also raised and discussed with potential sites including Atlanta, Savannah and Chattanooga but was tabled for
further discussion.
Fall Bulletin 2004
The Georgia Society held its Annual Meeting this past June, 2004 at Anthony's Restaurant in the Buckhead District
of Atlanta. As was the case last year the Annual meeting was held jointly with the Sons of the American
Colonists. Also in attendance were officers of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots, prospective Associates and
other attendees.
Elections were held to select Officers for the 2003 - 2005 Term. Governor Frary was re-elected to a second term as well
as being elected as Registrar. Secretary Hampton was re-elected to a second term as well as being elected
Lieutenant Governor. Treasurer Chastain was re-elected as was Historian Hagan. A new slate of Councilors
was ratified with Associates Thomas E. Peters, Walter C. Whitfield and James Roger Westlake elected to serve in
that capacity for the term 2003 - 2006.
The Georgia Society regrettably had two Associates pass from this life; Dr. Ramon Converse Thompson and William
Harold Hampton, father of our Lt. Governor William Charles Hampton. Both Associates will be sorely missed.
The Georgia Society had a banner year for new members with three Associates inducted. Those three gentlemen are
William Martin Hay, Ronald Charles Gay and Charles Robert Smith. The Georgia Society continues to work with a number
of prospective Associates and looks forward to another banner year!
Fall Bulletin 2002
The Georgia Society held its 14th Annual Meeting Saturday, March 23, 2002 at the Anthony's in the Buckhead District
of Atlanta. The meeting was held jointly with the Georgia Society of the Sons of the American Colonists. The meeting
was the first for the Sons of American Colonists in many years and was well attended by members of both societies.
In addition the Georgia Society of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots were invited guests.
At the business session the Georgia Society agreed to present the Order with an additional contribution of $100.00
to the John Quincy Adams Foundation and issued a challenge to other societies that had not yet contributed. Governor
Frary indicated he would draft a challenge which was delivered at the 106th General Court along with the presentation
of the donation.
Following the business session Governor Frary served as guest speaker presenting an overview of the Colonial Wars of
New England and its impact on society.

- A Fall Officer Meeting to discuss upcoming elections and the future direction of the Georgia Society.
- Book Donation to the Georgia Room of the Marietta Public Library on Saturday, August 17, 2002 at 10 AM.
- Book Donation to the Atlanta History Center on Saturday, September 14, 2002 at 10 AM.
